Description: The games are more gorgeous than ever now but sometimes we all miss the originals. For this project, I wanted to create a room in the 90’s with an old gaming console called “Micro Genius”.

Mario was one of my first video games, therefore I wanted to put the Mario cartridge to the console and plug it to the TV. I added other personal touches to the room by putting some of my favorite books to the shelf and putting my logo in the picture frame with my favorite X-men.

I wanted to create a vintage and dreamy looking semi-realistic environment in a winter night.

I aimed to keep my poly-count as low as possible and designed this scene as a game-environment not as a photo-shoot. For instance, the windows and the shelves are modeled action friendly, which means they are good for opening and closing.

Attention to details was really important for this project. After modelling and UV-mapping the low-poly versions in Maya, I imported the models into Zbrush to add them flaws, details, memories and life. I baked the high-poly models onto the low-poly ones in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

P.S: I sell every asset on this project. If you are interested, please contact me.
